We would like to welcome you to our online store. My name is Lori Nunley and I am a wife, mom and "soap cook". I am the owner and chief cook and bottle washer for SoapCupboard.com.

In 1999 I began my search for better soap products for my family. I was getting tired of reading the labels on store soaps and bath products just to realize I didn't recognize a single ingredient in the products. I thought "there has to be something better". With so many man-made chemicals being put into everything we eat, drink and use in our daily lives, it became apparent to me that I needed to get back to nature. So, I began my quest for something better and more natural.

I began researching about soaps and how they were made. As I researched and experimented with different soap bases and fragrances at home (my husband thought I was nuts at first) I began to realize there was a better way. Through my research I discovered two basic types of soaps, those that are made from pre-made bases and those that are made by hand from scratch using a cold process. Over time I realized that using the cold process from scratch allowed me to have complete control over all of the ingredients but the consistency and shape as well. It also allowed me to be sure that every single ingredient was a natural product.

I started sharing some of my "concoctions" with friends and family. It seemed they liked being my test subjects and trying out my new ideas and fragrances. Then one day my husband Paul suggested that maybe other people might be interested in switching away from harsh store bought soaps to all natural soaps like the ones that I had been making. He was right. And the more soaps and fragrances I made the more people started asking about other all natural bath products. That is when I decided to start my own business.

Since then I have added several more all natural products to my line. I now can offer my customers creams, scrubs, lip balms, candles and much more. Even though my product line keeps expanding, I still make everything by hand in my own kitchen. Each bar of soap, tub of cream and bag of Bath Fizzies is and always will be made by hand with care and all natural ingredients.
